A piece of old rolled metal, found along the Thames foreshore, has been hand stitched with silk threads to a piece of oxidised silver, that has been forged to follow the curve of the found object. A stailess steel pin on the back completes the brooch. I don't know what the object would have originally been used for, but it is the same metal used to form lace "chapes" or "aiglets" (which were wrapped around the end of laces in the same way as the piece of plastic at the end of a modern shoe lace) & I imagine it could have been part of a larger sheet used for that.

The brooch is 8cm long, 1.5cm at it's narrowest end & 2.5cm at the wider end. UK postage is included.
