Tiny fragments of broken china are found everywhere on the foreshore of the River Thames - were they part of a bowl or cup, someone's prized crockery used for best occassions or an every day item? - who knows! But they've been handled & used, & somehow broken & then discarded, to be worn smooth by the action of the river over the years. Four tiny fragments of blue & white china have been stitched together, with the embroidery highlighting the blue pattern running through each piece. Once stitched together, the fragments have been stitched into a silver frame, approx 6 x 4cm, & have a stainless steel double brooch pin to make it wearable.
