Old metal buttons from metal detecting finds have been handstitched onto silver, which has been formed to reflect the creases & folds of fabric. The buttons vary in age but all have signs of their wear & tear, some with scratches & marks, or patina from their previous use. I love the idea of stitching them with bright coloured silks so that they are back together with textiles again for their new life being worn as stud earrings.
Each earring measures approx. 3.5 x 1.5 cm.
